Coal handling by Indian ports down 1.28% in June m-o-m

July 28: Total coal handling by the major Indian ports during the month of June 2014 fell by 1.28% as compared to the previous month, according to a compilation by ICMW.
A total of 11,112,907 tons of coal was handled by above ports during the month of June 2014 as compared to 11,257,195 tons of coal handled by the same number of ports in May 2014, the compilation revealed.
During the corresponding month of the previous year (June 2013) total coal handling by these ports stood higher at 11,109,559 tons.
Total coal handling, both domestic and imported, by 15 major and minor ports of India during 2013-14 stood at 33,068,369 tons while the figure stood at 33,501,501 tons, according to a compilation by ICMW.
