Coal handling by Indian ports fall 4.57% in April m-o-m

May 30: Total coal handling by the major Indian ports during the month of February 2014 fell by 4.57% as compared to the previous month, according to a compilation by ICMW.
A total of 10,698,267 tons of coal was handled by the above ports during April 2014 compared to 11,211,087 tons handled by the same number of ports in March 2014, the compilation revealed.
During the corresponding month of the previous year (April 2013), total coal handling by these ports stood higher at 10,263,535 tons.
Total coal handling, both domestic and imported, by 15 major and minor ports of India during 2013-14 stood at 125,085,994 tons while the figure was at 107,837,501 tons in the previous fiscal, according to a compilation by ICMW.
