Coal handling by Indian ports up 4.26% in Nov m-o-m

December 31: Total coal handled by the major Indian ports during the month of November 2013 rose 4.26% compared to the previous month, according to a compilation by ICMW.
A total of 10,167,725 tons of coal was handled by the above-mentioned ports during the month under review against 9,752,705 tons of coal handled by the same number of ports in October, the compilation revealed.
During the corresponding month of the previous year (November 2012) total coal handling by these ports stood lower at 9,510,617 tons.
Total coal handling, both domestic and imported, by the 15 major and minor ports of India during the first eight months of 2013-14 (April-November) stood at 85,410,695 tons against 68,510,531 tons reported in the same period in the previous year, according to a compilation by ICMW.
