Coal handling falls 21.42% m-o-m at Haldia Dock in Feb

March 28: Coal handling by Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) of Kolkata Port Trust fell 21.42% in February 2014 to 576,000 tons as compared to 733,000 tons reported in January 2014, a senior official from Kolkata Port Trust told ICMW.
Of the total handling in February 2014, domestic coal accounted for 120,000 tons while the remaining 456,000 tons were imported coal, both coking (267,000 tons) and non-coking (189,000 tons), he said.
He further said that in February 2013, the dock had handled a total of 649,000 tons of coal.
Total coal handled by the port during the first 11 months of 2013-14 stood at 8,882,000 tons compared to 8,040,000 tons handled during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
