Coal handling falls 6.94% at V.O. Chidambaranar port in Sept

October 29: Handling of coal at V.O. Chidambaranar port stood at 923,589 tons during the month of September 2013, down 6.94% compared to 992,470 tons in August, a source at the port said.
During September 2012, coal handling stood at 888,000 tons.

During the first six months (April-September) of the current financial year of 2013-14, total coal handled at the port stood at 6,193,572 tons against 4,561,142 tons reported during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
