Coal handling up sharply at Porbandar Port in Dec

January 31: Coal handling at Porbandar Port, one of the leading Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) operated ports located on the western part of the country, stood at 106,459 tons during December 2013 compared to 20,000 tons handled during November, a senior official of the port told ICMW on January 31.
During December 2012, coal handling at the port stood at nil.
During the first nine months (April-December) of 2013-13, total coal handled at the port stood at 362,299 tons as compared to 382,874 tons handled during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
