Coal imports through Dhamra up 50.99% in H1

October 24: Coal imports through Dhamra Port were up 50.99% to 6,311,243 tons in the first six months (April-September) of 2014, compared to 4,179,999 tons imported during the same period last year, according to data available with ICMW.
Of total imports, coking coal was at 3,499,687 tons, up 179.08% in the first half of this year against 1,254,000 tons during the corresponding period last year, the data showed.
Non-coking coal imports, however, were down by 3.91% during the period under review at 2,811,556 tons versus 2,925,999 tons in the same period last year.
In the month of September 2014, total imports were at 953,444 tons, of which coking coal was at 400,972 tons and non-coking coal at 552,472 tons.
