Coal laden train derails at Modh, near Varanasi

December 21: As many as 13 bogies of a goods train loaded with coal for supply to northern India got derailed at Modh railway station near Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, an official report said.
The derailment, in which no injury was reported, disrupted rail services on the Allahabad-Varanasi section of Northern Railway, leading to diversion of a number of trains.
"Around 25 wagons of the freight train derailed when its coupling got damaged between Bhadohi and Modh railway stations this afternoon," Station Master Ahmad Ali said.
