Coal minister seeks Jharkhand MPs’ help to expedite rail project

July 14: Minister of State (Independent Charges) for Coal, Power and New & Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal has urged Members of Parliament from Jharkhand to help Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL), a subsidiary of CIL, by arranging for faster clearances of upcoming railway projects in the state.
Goyal, who was speaking through video conferencing after dedicating the Amrapali mine of CCL to the nation, requested all the MPs, who were present on the occasion to help CCL get necessary clearances from the state government and district authorities in matters relating to early completion of the Tori-Shivpur-Kathotia railway line and land authentication of villagers.
The upcoming crucial rail project, to be funded by CIL, will lead to free movement of as much as nearly 30 mt coal annually from various projects in an around the CCL area.
Goyal also sought support of the people of all mining areas in the country to enable the government’s commitment of providing power 24x7 to all.
