New UserCoal prices ease in global markets on low demand

May 7: Prices of all categories of coal eased in the international markets on lacklustre demand, sources said.
Though South African and Australian prices had shown marginal firmness the day before, the gains were neutralised the next day, sources added.
The Indonesian varieties, which were already under the weather, faced further erosion.
A slight firmness was witnessed in South African and Australian steam coal prices on May 5, but Indonesian prices had remained weak.
Following are the indicative prices of coal in various markets and indicative freight rates on May 6:
