December 18: Spot coal prices in major markets remained slightly soft as buyers avoided sealing deals in anticipation of a marginal easing in freight rates, industry sources said.
Prices of coals of almost all origin moved sideways with downward pressure.
Indian companies appear to be delaying their purchases as they think it is not only freight rates, but coal prices too that should soften a bit, they added.
