February 17: Seaborne coal prices in the international market showed little movement on February 14 as soft demand from China and India continued to impact, trading sources said.
Also, the lukewarm demand from Europe led to a downward pressure on prices, they said. The low demand from India and China has seen much of South African exports moving to Europe in recent weeks, leading to a drop in domestic prices.
The sources said the soft trend is likely to stay for the next couple of weeks before any firmness could be expected in March.
