Coal production in The U.S. UP 3.6% for the week ending July 25

United States the world’s second largest coal producer has produced approximately totaled an estimated 17.8 million short tons (mmst) of coal in a week (For the week ended July 25, 2015), EIA said in its latest report.
According to EIA’s latest report, this production estimate is 3.6% higher than last week's estimate and 10.5% lower than the production estimate in the comparable week in 2014.
East of the Mississippi River produced totaled an estimated 7.2 mmst (up 2.85% week over week) and west of the Mississippi River produced totaled an estimated 10.6 mmst (up 3.92% week over week) , according to weekly figures released by the US Energy Information Agency (EIA), on July 23, 2015.
U.S. year-to-date (as of July 25, 2015) coal production totaled an estimated 510.4 mmst, 8.6% lower than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2014.
