Coal production in The U.S. almost flat this week

United States the second largest coal producer in the world has produced approximately totaled an estimated 16.1 million short tons (mmst) of coal in a week (For the week ended May 23, 2015), EIA said in its latest report.
According to EIA’s latest report, This production estimate is 0.2% higher than last week's estimate and 15.7% lower than the production estimate in the comparable week in 2014.
East of the Mississippi River produced totaled an estimated 6.7 mmst (Flat week over week) and west of the Mississippi River produced totaled an estimated 9.4 mmst (flat week over week) , according to weekly figures released by the US Energy Information Agency (EIA), on May 23, 2015.
U.S. year-to-date (as of May 23, 2015) coal production totaled an estimated 363.8 mmst, 6.8% lower than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2014.
