Coal production in The U.S rose 6.0% week over week, says EIA

United States the second largest coal producer in the world has produced approximately totaled an estimated 16.3 million short tons (mmst) of coal in a week (For the week ended June 20, 2015), EIA said in its latest report.
According to EIA’s latest report, this production estimate is 6.0% higher than last week's estimate and 12.2% lower than the production estimate in the comparable week in 2014.
East of the Mississippi River produced totaled an estimated 6.8 mmst (up 6.24% week over week) and west of the Mississippi River produced totaled an estimated 9.5 mmst (up 5.5% week over week) , according to weekly figures released by the US Energy Information Agency (EIA), on June 25, 2015.
U.S. year-to-date (as of June 20, 2015) coal production totaled an estimated 425.7 mmst, 8.5% lower than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2014.
