Coal production in the U.S. for the week ending September 19 rose 2.5% w-o-w

United States the world’s second largest coal producer has produced approximately totaled an estimated 17.8 million short tons (mmst) of coal in a week (For the week ended September 19, 2015), EIA said in its latest report.
According to EIA’s latest report, this production estimate is 2.5% higher than last week's estimate and 9.0% lower than the production estimate in the comparable week in 2014.
East of the Mississippi River produced totaled an estimated 7.1 mmst (up 1.42 per cent week over week) and west of the Mississippi River produced totaled an estimated 10.7 mmst (up 2.88 per cent week over week) , according to weekly figures released by the US Energy Information Agency (EIA), on September 24, 2015.
U.S. year-to-date (as of September 19, 2015) coal production totaled an estimated 655.6 mmst, 8.4% lower than lower than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2014.
