Coal secy promises more coal in forward e-auction

Public sector coal miners may soon come out with detailed coal auction calendars to benefit coal consumers and also allot more coal for forward e-auction, according to Coal Secretary Anil Swarup.

Swarup, who was addressing an interactive session organised by the Coal Consumers’ Association of India (CCAI) in Kolkata, said the ministry would ask the miners to pay heed to the demand for such a calendar which would be of immense benefit for the consumers.

Such a calendar, he said, should mention the details of the subsidiaries, mines, grades of coals, etc. along with the quantity. This would enable the consumers to take informed business decisions, he added.

Furthermore, the secretary said that the ministry would consider CCAI’s demand for allotment of more coal for forward e-auction in future.
