Imports of gypsum via Cochin Port catapulted 96.83% to 683 tons in April 2016, compared to 347 tons imported in the previous month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Moreover, imports of the material via the port in April 2016 were up 50.11% year-on-year against 455 tons seen in April 2015.

During April 2016, 162 tons came from Iran in a price range of Rs 4,327-Rs 4,964 ($65-$74) per ton, 510 tons from the UAE at a price range of Rs 3,171-Rs 5,309 ($47-$79) per ton and 11 tons from the Germany at Rs 59,454-Rs 91,162 ($889-$1,363) per ton.
During March 2016, 26 tons came from Iran in a price of Rs 5,044 ($73) per ton and 321 tons from the UAE at a price range of Rs 4,914-Rs 4,987 ($72-$73) per ton.
