Gypsum imports via Cochin Port stood at 449 tons during the month of November 2015, resulting in a decline of 39.49% in comparison to 742 tons imported in October 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Meanwhile, gypsum imports through this port during the first eight months (April- NOvember) of 2015-16 were at 4,095 tons, resulting in a rise of 17.88% in comparison to 3,474 tons imported during the same period in 2014-15.
However, 622 tons of gypsum were imported via the port in November 2014.

During November 2015, out of the total imports of 449 tons, 240 tons came from Iran in a price range of Rs 2,937-Rs 5,174 ($45-$78) per ton and 209 tons came from UAE at a price range of Rs 4,794-Rs 9,962 ($73-$150) per ton.
During October 2015, out of the total imports of 742 tons, 13 tons came from Germany in a price range of Rs 87,236-Rs 91,201 ($1,319-$1,379) per ton, 189 tons came from Iran at a price range of Rs 4,853-Rs 4,957 ($73-$75) per ton and 540 tons from the UAE at a price range of Rs 4,908-Rs 5,393 ($73-$80) per ton.
