Cochin Port’s October gypsum imports up 8% m-o-m

November 18: Gypsum imports via Cochin Port stood at 742 tons during the month of October 2015, resulting in a rise of 7.54% in comparison to 690 tons imported in September 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.

Meanwhile, gypsum imports through this port during the first seven months (April- October) of 2015-16 were at 3,646 tons, resulting in a rise of 27.84% in comparison to 2,852 tons imported during the same period in 2014-15

However, 29 tons of gypsum were imported via the port in October 2014.

Following are the monthly details of gypsum imports via the port during 2014-15 and 2015-16:

During October 2015, out of the total imports of 742 tons, 13 tons came from Germany in a price range of Rs 87,236-Rs 91,201 ($1,319-$1,379) per ton, 189 tons came from Iran at a price range of Rs 4,853-Rs 4,957 ($73-$75) per ton and 540 tons from the UAE at a price range of Rs 4,908-Rs 5,393 ($73-$80) per ton.

During September 2015, out of total imports of 690 tons, 162 tons came from China in a price range of Rs 10,273-Rs12,153 ($153-$181) per ton, 50 tons came from Iran at Rs 4,882 ($73) per ton and 478 tons came from the UAE at a price range of Rs 4,792-Rs 10,060 ($73-$150) per ton.
