Cochin Port’s steam coal imports flat in December

Imports of steam coal via Cochin Port stood at 4,000 tons in December, 2015, same as the imported quantity in November 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
There were no imports of steam coal through the port in December 2014.
For the first nine months (April-November) of the current fiscal (2015-16), steam coal imports via Cochin Port stood at 77,700 tons against 48,034 tons imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).
Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Cochin Port in 2014-15 and 2015-16:

During December, the entire imported quantity of 4,000 tons came from South Africa at a unit price of Rs 5,129 ($76) per ton.
In November too, the entire imported quantity of 4,000 tons came from South Africa but at a unit price of Rs 4,984 ($75) per ton.
