Coking coal imported via Pipavav in Apr after 5 months

Coking coal was imported through Pipavav Port after a gap of 5 months in April 2016 with the volumes at 15,200 tons, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
There have been no imports of the material from November 2015 to March 2016.
In 2015-16 (April-March), total coking coal imports through the port stood at 43,960 tons against nil imports in 2014-15
In April 2016, a volume of 3,000 tons came from Australia at a unit price of Rs 6,061 ($90) while further details of the remaining 12,200 tons were not available.
In October 2015, coking coal imports via Pipavav Port had stood at 14,960 tons and the entire consignment had come in from Australia at Rs 7,046 ($108) per ton.
