Coking coal imports via Gangavaram double in April m-o-m

May 8: Coking coal imports through the port of Gangavaram stood at 349,111 tons in April 2014, up by almost two times compared to 151,775 tons recorded in the previous month, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
During 2013-14, coking coal imports via the port stood at 4,189,667 tons.

During April 2014, 223,677 tons came in from Australia within a price range of Rs 8,085-Rs 9,447 ($133-$156) per ton, 48,053 tons came from New Zealand at a price of Rs 7,112 ($118) per ton while 77,380 tons came from United States at a price of Rs 9,523 ($158) per ton.
However, in March 2014, the entire material arrived from Australia at a price range of Rs 8,772-Rs 9,718 ($139-$157) per ton.
