Coking coal imports via Gangavaram fall 38.12% tons in Feb

March 10: Coking coal imports through the port of Gangavaram stood at 298,715 tons during the month of February 2014 against 482,695 tons imported in the previous month, showing a fall of 38.12%, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports via Gangavaram Port during the first 11 months of 2013-14 stood at 4,037,892 tons, down 0.67% from 4,065,096 tons imported during the corresponding period of 2012-13.

During February 2014, 149,886 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,881-Rs 17,505 ($125-$278) per ton, 76,665 tons came from Canada at a price of Rs 8,115 ($130) per ton while 72,165 tons came from the US at a price of Rs 10,453 ($166) per ton.
However, in January 2014, 385,445 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 8,265-Rs 10,175 ($133-$164) per ton, 24,250 tons came from Canada at a price of Rs 10,454 ($168) per ton while 73,000 tons came from the US at a price of Rs 10,539 ($168) per ton.
