Coking coal imports via Gangavaram fall 49.19% tons in March

April 9: Coking coal imports through the port of Gangavaram stood at 151,775 tons in March 2014, against 298,715 tons recorded in the previous month, showing a fall of 49.19%, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports via Gangavaram Port during 2013-14 stood at 4,189,667 tons, down 4.78% from 4,389,836 tons imported during 2012-13.

In March 2014, the entire material arrived from Australia at a price range of Rs 8,772-Rs 9,718 ($139-$157) per ton.
However, during February 2014, 149,886 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,881-Rs 17,505 ($125-$278) per ton, 76,665 tons came from Canada at Rs 8,115 ($130) per ton while 72,165 tons came from the US at Rs 10,453 ($166) per ton.
