Coking coal imports via Gangavaram fall 58.04% m-o-m in August

September 13: Coking coal import through the port of Gangavaram fell 58.04% to 247,676 tons in August 2013 compared to 590,290 tons in July 2013, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports through the port during the first five months (April-August) of 2013-14 stood at 2,040,749 tons, higher than 1,855,092 tons imported during the corresponding period of 2012-13.

During August 2013, 142,374 tons of coking coal came from Australia at a price range of Rs 9714-Rs 9845 ($149-$160) per ton, 30,750 tons came from Mozambique at a price of Rs 8256 ($134) per ton while 74,552 tons came from USA at a price of Rs 9371 ($143) per ton.
However, in July 2013, 557,595 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 8808–Rs 13,535 ($146–$224) per ton, while 32,695 tons came from Mozambique at a price of Rs 8,924 ($150) per ton.
