Coking coal imports via Gangavaram rose 20.11%m-o-m in September

October 23: Coking coal import through the port of Gangavaram rose 20.11% to 335,696 tons in September 2013 compared to 247,676 tons in August 2013, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports via Gangavaram port during the first half (April-September) of 2013-14 stood at 2,376,445 tons, 11.33% higher than 2,134,579 tons imported during the corresponding period of 2012-13.

During September 2013, 302,257 tons of coking coal came from Australia at a price range of Rs 8,792-Rs 10,438 ($139-$156) per ton while only 33439 tons came from Mozambique at Rs 8,649 ($129) per ton.
During August 2013, 142,374 tons of coking coal came from Australia at a price range of Rs 9,714-Rs 9,845 ($149-$160) per ton, 30,750 tons came from Mozambique at a price of Rs 8,256 ($134) per ton while 74,552 tons came from USA at a price of Rs 9,371 ($143) per ton.
