Coking coal imports via Gangavaram spurt in Sept m-o-m

October 13: Coking coal imports through the port of Gangavaram stood at 794,741 tons in September 2014, up almost 3.38 times as compared to 235,052 tons recorded in the previous month, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
During September 2013, coking coal imports via the port stood at 335,696 tons.

In September, 619,743 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,059-Rs 7,906 ($99-$129) per ton, 47,648 tons came from New Zealand at a price range of Rs 6,424 ($105) per ton while the balance 127,349 tons came in from the US at a price range of Rs 8,050-Rs 8,466 ($130-$138) per ton.
However, during August 2014, the entire material came from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,657-Rs 7,649 ($110-$124) per ton.
