Coking coal imports via Gangavaram up 10.79% in May m-o-m

June 12: Coking coal imports through the port of Gangavaram stood at 386,772 tons in May 2014, up almost 10.79% as compared to 349,111 tons recorded in the previous month, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
During May 2013, coking coal import via the port stood at 215,056 tons.

In May 2014, the entire quantity came from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,254-Rs 9,136 ($119-$150) per ton.
However, during April 2014, 223,677 tons came in from Australia within a price range of Rs 8,085-Rs 9,447 ($133-$156) per ton, 48,053 tons came from New Zealand at a price of Rs 7,112 ($118) per ton while 77,380 tons came from United States at a price of Rs 9,523 ($158) per ton.
