Coking coal imports via Gangavaram up 10.83% tons in Dec

January 7: Coking coal imports through the port of Gangavaram stood at 462,623 tons during the month of December 2013 against 417,414 tons imported in the previous month, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports via Gangavaram port during the first nine months of 2013-14 stood at 3,256,482 tons, up 8.66% from 2,996,847 tons imported during the corresponding period of 2012-13.

During December 2013, 393,403 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 8,302-Rs 10,996 ($133-$176) per ton, 3,750 tons came from Canada at a price of Rs 10,546 ($168) while 65,470 tons came in from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 8,812-Rs 8,969 ($140-$144) per ton.
However, during November 2013, 307,401 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 9,864-Rs 10,676 ($156-$169) per ton, 33,941 tons came from Mozambique at a price of Rs 8,697 ($140) per ton while 76,071 tons came from the US at a price of Rs 9,666 ($155) per ton.
