Coking coal imports via Gangavaram up 4.33% tons in Jan

February 26: Coking coal imports through the port of Gangavaram stood at 482,695 tons during the month of January 2014 against 462,623 tons imported in the previous month, showing an increase of 4.33%, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports via Gangavaram Port during the first 10 months of 2013-14 stood at 3,739,177 tons, up 8.66% from 3,580,400 tons imported during the corresponding period of 2012-13.

In January 2014, 385,445 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 8,265-Rs 10,175 ($133-$164) per ton, 24,250 tons came from Canada at a price of Rs 10,454 ($168) per ton while 73,000 tons came from the US at a price of Rs 10,539 ($168) per ton.
However, during December 2013, an amount of 393,403 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 8,302-Rs 10,996 ($133-$176) per ton, 3,750 tons came from Canada at a price of Rs 10,546 ($168) while 65,470 tons came in from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 8,812-Rs 8,969 ($140-$144) per ton.
