Coking coal imports via Kandla fall 2.83% in April

May 14: Coking coal imports through the port of Kandla stood at 23,786 tons in April 2014, down 2.83% from 24,480 tons reported in March 2014, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of coking coal through the port during FY'14 stood at 326,852 tons.
Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via Kandla:

In April 2014, a volume of 20,286 tons arrived from Australia at a price range of Rs 9,708-Rs 10,308 ($161-$171) per ton, 2,500 tons came in from Malaysia at a price of Rs 9,952 ($165) per ton whereas the remaining 1,000 tons came from Mozambique at a price of Rs 9,764 ($161) per ton.
However, in March 2014, 20,273 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 9,894-Rs 12,343 ($160-$200) per ton while the balance 4,207 tons came from Mozambique in a price range of Rs 9,916-Rs 10,109 ($161-$163) per ton.
