Coking coal imports via Kandla fall 47.03% m-o-m in Oct

November 20: Coking coal imports through the port of Kandla stood at 25,000 tons in October 2013, down 47.03% from 47,200 tons in September, as per information available with ICMW.
The import of coking coal import through the port during the first seven months (April-October) of FY'14 stood at 187,465 tons against 200,359 tons during the same period last year.
Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via Kandla:

During October 2013, 13,500 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 10,177-Rs 12,383 ($164-$199) per ton while 11,500 tons came from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 5993-Rs 9795 ($96-$157) per ton.
However, in September, of the total coking coal imports through Kandla during the month, 32,000 tons came from Australia whereas 15,200 tons came from Mozambique. The material from Australia came at a price range of Rs 9,924-Rs 13,006 ($156-$199) per ton while that from Mozambique came at a price range of Rs 5,874-Rs 10,083 ($90-$150) per ton.
