Coking coal imports via Kandla fall 51% in Aug m-o-m

September 11: Coking coal imports through the port of Kandla stood at 35,600 tons in August 2014, down almost 51.13% from 72,841 tons reported in July 2014, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of coking coal through the port during August 2013 stood at 32,458 tons.

During August 2014, 31,100 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,886-Rs 9,186 ($96-$149) per ton while the balance 4,500 tons came from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 8,219-Rs 8,437 ($133-$139) per ton.
However, in July 2014, 61,341 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,886-Rs 12,343 ($98-$203) per ton while the balance 11,500 tons came in from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 8,050-Rs 8,219 ($134-$137) per ton.
