Coking coal imports via Kandla up 2.17% in June

July 21: Coking coal imports through the port of Kandla stood at 23,500 tons in June 2014, up 2.17% from 23,000 tons reported in May 2014, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of coking coal through the port during June 2013 stood at 29,000 tons.

During June 2014, 16,000 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 8,318-Rs 9,840 ($139-$163) per ton whereas the rest of 7,500 tons came in from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 8,402-Rs 9,611 ($139-$161) per ton.
However, during May 2014, 20,500 tons of coking coal came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,667-Rs 9,838 ($128-$162) per ton whereas the balance 2,500 tons came in from Mozambique at Rs 9,651 ($161) per ton.
