Coking coal imports via Kandla up 28% in Sept m-o-m

October 20: Coking coal imports through the port of Kandla stood at 45,547 tons in September 2014, up almost 27.94% from 35,600 tons reported in August 2014, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of coking coal through the port during September 2013 stood at 47,200 tons.

In September 2014, 43,047 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,886-Rs 8,906 ($96-$144) per ton while the balance 2,500 tons came from Mozambique at a price of Rs 8,479 ($139) per ton.
However, during August 2014, 31,100 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,886-Rs 9,186 ($96-$149) per ton while the balance 4,500 tons came from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 8,219-Rs 8,437 ($133-$139) per ton.
