Coking coal imports via Kandla up 4.17% in March

April 14: Coking coal imports through the port of Kandla stood at 24,480 tons in March 2014, up 4.17% from 23,500 tons reported in February 2014, as per information available with ICMW.
Imports of coking coal through the port during FY'14 stood at 326,852 tons against 325,859 tons during the same period last year.
Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via Kandla:

During March 2014, 20,273 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 9,894 - Rs 12,343 ($160-$200) per ton while the balance 4,207 tons came from Mozambique in a price range of Rs 9,916 - Rs 10,109 ($161-$163) per ton.
However, during February 2014, 16,000 tons came in from Australia in a price range of Rs 10,046 - Rs 12,782 ($160-$203) per ton while the balance 7,500 tons came from Mozambique in a price range of Rs 9,598 - Rs 10,109 ($152-$161) per ton.
