Coking coal imports via Kandla up 90.93% m-o-m in August

September 6: Coking coal imports through the port of Kandla stood at 32,458 tons in August 2013, up 90.93% from 17,000 tons in July, as per information available with ICMW.
The import of coking coal import through the port during first five months (April-August) of FY'14 stood at 115,265 tons, while it stood at 144,359 tons during same period last year.
Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via Kandla:

In August 2013, 23,965 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 10,314-Rs 12,407 ($168-$202) per ton while 8493 tons came from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 5,564-Rs 9,901 ($90-$152) per ton.
However, in July 2013, the entire quantity came from Australia at a price range of Rs 10,165-Rs 11,878 ($172-$199) per ton.
