Coking coal imports via Kandla up 96.64% m-o-m in Dec

January 21: Coking coal imports through the port of Kandla stood at 52,970 tons in December 2013, up 96.64% from 26,937 tons in November, as per information available with ICMW.
The import of coking coal through the port during the first nine months (April-December) of FY'14 stood at 267,372 tons against 262,479 tons during the same period last year.

During December 2013, 46,470 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 9,501-Rs 11,119 ($153-$176) per ton while 6,500 tons came in from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 9,499-Rs 9,590 ($152) per ton.
However, in November 2013, 21,937 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 9,816-Rs 12,852 ($156-$203) per ton while 5,000 tons came from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 9,298-Rs 9,621 ($149-$152) per ton.
