Total imports of coking coal through Karaikal Port during financial year 2015-16 (April-March) stood at 281,250 tons, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
ICMW does not have data for the first seven months (April-October) of 2014-15, but imports during the balance five months (November-March) 2015 stood at 124,668 tons.
In March 2016, a volume of 72,429 tons of coking coal were imported through Karaikal Port, up 3.97% from 69,661 ton in February. Imports, in general, have been irregular throughout the year.
