Coking coal imports via Kolkata down 6.52% m-o-m in Oct

November 11: Coking coal imports through the port of Kolkata port decreased by 6.52% to 424,945 tons in October 2013 against 454,582 tons reported in September 2013, as per information available with ICMW.
During the first seven months (April-October, 2013-14), 3,057,866 tons of coking coal were imported via Kolkata, compared to 2,741,028 tons in the corresponding months of the last fiscal.
Coking coal imports in October 2012 stood at 299,098 tons.
Total coking coal imports in the entire financial year of 2012-13 stood at 4,411,727 tons.

In October, 363822 tons arrived from Australia in a price band of Rs 8,762-Rs 10,562 ($140.86-$166.84) per ton while 61,123 tons arrived from the United States in a price band of Rs 9,618-Rs 9,899 ($153.76-$158.24) per ton.
In September 2013, 372,642 ton of coking coal was imported from Australia at a price range of Rs 7693-Rs-12,478 –Rs 7693 (-$115-$191),50,040 tons came from New Zealand at a price range of Rs10,521-Rs 7,956 ($119-$157) while 31,900 tons came from the United States at Rs 9887 ($155) per ton.
