Coking coal imports via Kolkata up 16.43% m-o-m in June

July 11: Coking coal imports through Kolkata Port rose 16.43% to 400,531 tons in June 2014 against 344,001 tons reported in May, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
In June 2013, coking coal imports were at 428,466 tons.
Coking coal imports for the first three months of fiscal 2014-15 were at 1,039,616 tons against 1,245,988 tons recorded for the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total imports of the material during the entire financial year of 2013-14 stood at 5,020,876 tons.

In June, imports included 357,923 tons from Australia in a price range of Rs 6,329 – Rs 9,285 ($105-155) per ton, 41,277 tons from New Zealand in a price range of Rs 6,363 – Rs 7,699 ($106-127) per ton and 1,331 tons from the US at a unit price of Rs 13,206 ($221)
In May, coking coal imports comprised 247,982 tons from Australia in a price band of Rs 7,480 – Rs 9,590 ($124-158) per ton, 17,246 tons from New Zealand at a unit price of Rs 9,646 ($159-160) per ton and the balance 78,773 tons from the US in a range of Rs 9,181 – Rs 13,203 ($153-220) per ton.
