Coking coal imports via Mormugao falls 19.21% in May m-o-m

July 1: Imports of coking coal via Mormugao Port stood at 536,483 tons during May 2014, down 19.21% from 664,011 tons imported in April, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
During May 2013, however, coking coal imports via the port stood at nil.
Following are the month-wise coking coal imports via Mormugao Port during 2013-14 and 2014-15:

In May 2014, 292,106 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,107-Rs 8,745 ($117-$144) per ton, 82,329 tons came from Canada at a price of Rs 7,365 ($121) per ton, 84,415 tons came from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 9,208-Rs 9,634 ($151-$158) per ton while the rest of 77,634 tons came from South Africa at a price of Rs 6,167 ($101) per ton.
However, during April 2014, 535,962 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,914-Rs 10,494 ($131-$174) per ton, 45,550 tons from Mozambique at a price range of Rs 9,217-Rs 9,767 ($152-$162) per ton while the balance 82,499 tons came in from South Africa at a price of Rs 5,972 ($99) per ton.
