Coking coal imports via Mormugao up 33.81% in March m-o-m

April 10: Imports of coking coal via Mormugao Port stood at 436,714 tons during the month of March 2014, up 33.81% from 326,362 tons imported in February, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
During March 2013, however, coking coal imports via the port stood at nil.

In March 2014, 375,220 tons of coking coal came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 8,731-Rs 10,569 ($141-$168) per ton while 61,494 tons came in from Canada at a price of Rs 9,522 ($151) per ton.
However, during February 2014, 167,400 tons arrived from Australia at a price range of Rs 10,293-Rs 10,618 ($164-$169) per ton, 81,426 tons came from Canada at a price of Rs 10,596 ($168) per ton while 77,537 tons came from South Africa at a price of Rs 6,912 ($110) per ton.
