Coking coal imports via Mormugao up 6.71% in Dec m-o-m

January 10: Imports of coking coal via Mormugao port stood at 546,672 tons during the month of December, up 6.71% from 512,314 tons imported in November, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
During December 2012, coking coal imports via the port stood at 324,464 tons.
Following are the month-wise coking coal imports via Mormugao port during 2013-14 (up to December) and 2012-13:

During December 2013, 464,502 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 8,315-Rs 11,294 ($133-$181) per ton while 82,170 tons arrived from Canada at a price of Rs 10,044 ($160) per ton.
However, in November 2013, 290,605 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 9,461-Rs 11,612 ($149-$187) per ton, 144,609 tons came in from Canada at a price range of Rs 9,468-Rs 10,422 ($150-$168) per ton while the rest of 77,100 tons came in from Mozambique at a price of Rs 9,951 ($158) per ton.
