Coking coal imports via New Mangalore almost double in Oct

November 28: Coking coal imports through the port of New Mangalore jumped almost twice in October 2013 to 25,853 tons compared to 12,318 tons in September, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
The import of steam coal import through the port during first seven months (April-October) of FY'14 stood at 253,026 tons, up from 366,458 tons in the corresponding period last year (April-October 2012).

During October 2013, the entire material came from Australia at a price range of Rs 6501-Rs 10,320 ($105-$106) per ton whereas in September, the entire quantity also came from Australia at a price of Rs 6159 ($94) per ton.
