Coking coal imports via Paradip up 23.34% in April m-o-m

May 22: Imports of coking coal through the port of Paradip rose 23.34% to 538,031 tons in April 2014 against a volume of 436,226 tons recorded in March 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of coking coal in April 2013 were at 270,990 tons.
Total imports of coking coke via the port during entire financial year of 2013-14 stood at 5,954,933 tons.

In April, 463,449 tons arrived from Australia in a price band of Rs 8,254 - Rs 10,825 ($137-175) per ton, 30,572 tons came in from Mozambique at a unit price of Rs 8,976 ($145) while the balance 44,010 tons arrived from the US in a band of Rs 9,456 - Rs 9,511 ($156) per ton.
In March 2014, coking coal imports through Paradip included 384,579 tons from Australia in a price band of Rs 8,682 - Rs 11,615 ($138-$188) per ton and the balance 51,647 tons from the US in a price range of Rs 9,777 - Rs 9,841 ($158-$159) per ton.
