Coking coal imports via Paradip up 31.69% in June m-o-m

July 24: Imports of coking coal through the port of Paradip rose 31.69% to 438,087 tons in June 2014 against a volume of 332,659 tons reported in May 2014 according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of coking coal in June 2013 were lower at 388,541 tons.
Total imports of coking coal via the port during the first three months of the current financial year (2014-15) stood at 1,308,777 tons from 1,173,155 tons imported through the port during the same period of 2013-14.

In June, all the consignments arrived from Australia in a price band of Rs 6,550 – Rs 8,352 ($109-140) per ton.
In May 2014, 298,786 tons of coking coal arrived from Australia in a price band of Rs 6,735 –Rs 9,167 ($112-$151) per ton and 33,873 tons from Mozambique at a unit price of Rs 6,378 ($105).
