Coking coal imports via Vizag up 32.40% in June m-o-m

July 9: Coking coal imports through the port of Vizag rose 32.40% to 472,347 tons in June 2014 against 356,748 tons reported in May, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
In June, 2013, coking coal imports through Vizag Port stood at 472,329 tons.
In the first three months of the current financial year (2014-15) coking coal imports through the port stood at 1,366,992 tons against 1,785,481 tons imported during the same period in 2013-14.

Imports in June comprised 392,174 tons from Australia in a range of Rs 4,447-8,150 ($74-136), 57,027 tons from New Zealand in a range of Rs 6,653 – Rs 7,858 ($111-130) and 48,180 tons from the US in a range of Rs 8,967- 9,004 ($150) per ton.
In May 2014, 273,326 tons were imported from Australia in a price range of Rs 7,366-Rs 9,628 ($123-$158) per ton, 34,518 tons from New Zealand at a unit price of Rs 9,688-9,696 ($159) and 48,905 from the US in a price band of Rs 9,365-Rs 9,412($154-$156).
