DVC must clarify on land for rail corridor: SLC
18 Sep 2013
September 18: The SLC (LT) of Ministry of Coal in its meeting held on September 13 has asked Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) to submit papers showing possession of 203.35 acres of land for II unit of its Power Plant at Raghunathpur in order to be eligible to sign Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA).
"Necessary papers may be submitted to Central Coalfields Limited (CCL)," the committee said.
The committee further said that "The Ministry of Power (MoP) may clarify on the requirement of land for a rail corridor. If this extent of land is not taken for the project the same should be made clear to the Ministry of Coal. After the above clarification from MoP, the FSA may be signed."
DVC had said the project had achieved all milestones, including land acquisition, and that WBIDC had issued in-principle approval for 100 acres of land, which was not being accepted by Central Coalfields (CCL).
DVC has also stated that since the land was acquired by the state government and handed over to them, no forest clearance/NOC from the forest department was required, but CCL had said that the project had not achieved 90% of the land requirement.
